At the Hasegawa lab of the Tokyo Institute of Technology Japanese scientists have created a robot that can learn based on past experiences. The robot can think, learn and react to situations and teach itself new behaviours in an unsupervised manner.
The Self-Organizing Incremental Neural Network (SOINN) robot is described by its developers as “an unsupervised online-learning method, which is capable of incremental learning.”
SOINN learns through its own experiences, as well as through the large network of online information available to each robot model. Developers are now working on creating a robot that can multi-task, solving the problem of overly specialized robots.
Dear all, join us in Robotic Society's 4th Annual General Meeting on 22nd June, Wednesday, 3pm to 5pm. Pizza and snacks are provided after the meeting. Join us and have fun!!!
